Clerical Assistant: Attendance

Start Date: September 2019

Contract: Permanent – 32.5 hours per week, term time only

Salary: Grade 3, SCP 10 – 13 (FTE £ 16,863 - £17,391) Actual £12,805 p.a. (Pay award pending)

We are seeking to appoint a Clerical Assistant toprovide organisational and administrative support in connection with the attendance of students.

Working as a member of the Inclusion team, duties will include: liaison with pupils, parents, staff and appropriate external stakeholders with regard to attendance, maintenance and monitoring of attendance data and reception duties.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be confident and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be able to effectively use a range of ICT packages and have good keyboard skills. (experience of using SIMS would be an advantage).
  • Be able to work constructively as part of a team.
  • Have good organising, planning and prioritising skills.
  • Have a good general education and a high level of literacy and numeracy skills (minimum GCSE level C or equivalent in Maths and English).

We are seeking to appoint a Clerical Assistant to provide personal, administrative and organisational support to the SENCo.

Working as a member of the Special Education Needs and Safeguarding team, duties will include:

  • Developing and maintaining effective organisational systems
  • Liaising with parents/carers and external agencies to set up review meetings
  • Co-ordinating requirements for the annual reviews of pupils with special needs at the school
  • Manage computerised record/information systems
  • Undertaking confidential and general typing and word-processing for the SENCo.

Learning Resource Centre Administrator

Start Date: September 2019

Contract: Permanent – 22 hours per week, term time only

Salary: Grade 5, SCP 16 – 20 (FTE £ 18,319- £19,819) Actual £9,417 p.a. (Pay review pending)

A Learning Resource Centre Administrator is required to organise, develop and promote the school’s Learning Resource Centre / Library, to enable it to become a vibrant and key part of the school community. This opportunity will suit someone who is self-motivated, committed and eager to enhance this key educational provision.

Duties will include:

  • Overseeing all elements of the running of the library/resource centre
  • Cover supervision of students using the library/resource centre without the presence of a teacher
  • Reprographic support to staff and students
  • Updating the school’s website
  • Producing newsletters, in conjunction with staff and pupils

Janitor (with driving)

Start Date: September 2019

Contract: Permanent – 20 hours per week, term time only

Salary: Grade 2, SCP 7-10 (FTE £ 16,495- £16,863) Actual £9,636 p.a. (Pay review pending)

The school is seeking to appoint a Janitor to join the site maintenance team, working under the direction of the Caretaker to support the effective operation of the school. This will include responsibilities relating to security and safety, maintenance and cleaning and minor repairs. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake lunchtime supervision duties and drive the school minibus as required.

Experience of working in a school in a similar capacity would be an advantage. A full, driving licence is essential.

Curriculum Area Learning Supervisor

We are seeking to appoint a Curriculum Area Learning Supervisor to provide class cover supervision in the absence of the teacher. You will be required to deliver planned lessons to support the continued progress of our students - this is an ideal role for anyone considering a future career in teaching.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful and creative individual with a passion for supporting young people. You will be expected to deliver cover work in a range of subjects and respond to the needs of both pre-planned and emergency cover.

In quieter times, you may also be expected to provide inclusion support for individual or small groups of students, exam invigilation and administrative tasks.
